RVCA // Gary Turner BMX

In 1972, Gary Turner, a professional drag racer and experienced welder, started out making a BMX bike out of chrome-moly tubing for his son Craig to race at the BMX tracks. Craig's bike gets noticed and Gary starts to supply the frames to other kids and building his reputation one frame at a time. Gary Turner BMX was born.

Gary partnered with Richard Long in late 1976 and the name was switched to GT. Business took off, selling frames as fast as possible to bicycle distributors across the USA and into Europe. Little did they know that in 20 years they would build together one of the most well known bicycle companies in the world. The company eventually sold off in 1989.

7 years ago, Gary and Craig went to a BMX swap meet and saw a 1891 26" BMX cruiser and wanted to build that frame again. They decided to restart their business of hand built BMX bikes, specializing in cruisers. Shop the Collection.

Fast forward today, Craig has hand built over 4000 frames and continues his lifelong passion for BMX culture.
